Most tenancies end with the deposit returned, no fuss. When you and your landlord can't agree on what — if anything — should come out of it, here's how we settle it: fairly, and with your money untouched until it's decided.

How it works

Both sides get to make their case.

Both sides submit a written statement and evidence. Move-in and move-out photos held by ShieldDeposit are auto-attached.

Timing

We aim to give a written decision within seven working days of the case closing for evidence.

Outcome

We then release or split the deposit exactly as the decision says. Your money stays safely in escrow the whole time — no one can touch it while the case is open.
